Do you take senior photos? Why yes, yes I do.

Rachel is my lovely cousin and she and her family came down for Easter.  Before she came down she asked me ever so sweetly to photograph her senior photos.  Of course I would.  I suggested Manayunk which is such a cool place to hang out plus it’s a photographers dreamland of textures.  There’s rust and concrete and brick and iron.  There’s also water and bridges and stairways and train tracks.  It’s got a little bit of everything.  I didn’t have time for everything since I also had to meet a potential wedding client (which I just booked today!!) but we still found some sweet places to take some photos.  She had the beauty and I had the eye and together we created some awesome pics for her senior year.

Congratulations to Melanie G! WINNER!

Once again I did not blog in 7 days and another blog stalker has grabbed a free session.  I’m pretty sure that I’ll be doing free sessions all season.  If you tried to catch me and didn’t beat Melanie that’s because she caught me a full minute after my 7 days was up.  That is hard to beat.  I look forward to taking her free session sometime in the future.

If you want to check out Melanie’s wedding photos just type “Melanie” in the search bar.  It’s the first one that comes up.

Congrats Melanie!!!

Monica and Dennis’s Wedding Day

Monica and Dennis were married at The Highlands Mansion and enjoyed their reception at the always gorgeous Knowlton Mansion.  I love love love mansions of any kind because there are so much visually to keep me busy.  Mansions always have interesting architectural details, warm lit rooms, manicured landscapes and lots of room to roam.  Two mansions are just too much to completely capture on one day but  it does make your album exciting and beautiful.  It also doesn’t hurt to have your wedding in November when the trees are fire orange.  Monica and Dennis love each other very much.  You can tell by Dennis’s reaction to Monica coming down the aisle.  Not too many guys like having photos of themselves crying posted on the web for all to see so I apologize ahead of time Dennis.  It’s sweet and I’m sure your guy friends aren’t looking at my blog anyway.   That photo is one of the reasons that I absolutely love my job.  I captured a side of Dennis that may never be photographed again and there is no doubt how he is feeling at that moment.

This is also the first blog post that my wife Michelle created for me!  Yeah!  Now I’m off to the 100 other things on my list to do today :)

Danny and Matt’s Bar Mitzvah

Last year, I photographed my first Bar Mitzvah.  It was also my 2nd photographer Georgi’s first Bar Mitzvah.  I will be honest.  Even after 250 weddings I was very nervous for this.  What are the rules?  Am I going to be yelled at if I don’t do something right?  Will I take the photos that I’m supposed to take?  What if I miss something?  What if I look stupid and someone says to the parents, “Where did you get this photographer?”  I was assured by the families that it will be easy and very very fun.

I didn’t have a thing to worry about.  It was so laid back.  The families were awesome.  The boys were easy to photograph.  And the location was amazing.  It was all held at Beat Street which you can see by the photos is not like any wedding location I’ve ever photographed.  Colors everywhere.  It was grungy, hazy, flashy and filled with textures.  Georgi and I had a blast.

At a wedding the guests need to get a few drinks in them before the dancing really gets going.  Not these kids.  They are maniacs.  These kids know every word to every song and sing till they can’t sing any more.  It was a great party and I can’t wait to do another one at Beat Street.
