Kiersten and Andrew’s Engagement Photos

Kiersten and Andrew met while attending St Joe’s University.  So, it made sense to go there for their engagement photos.  I’m glad that we did because it was a really beautiful campus.  Andrew was worried abut being photographed and looking stupid but I told him everyone feels this way and I had no worries.  He ended up doing amazing and I think they both look great together.  The light was amazing that day and really shows.

Heather and Colin’s Wedding Photos

Heather and Colin were married at Normandy Farm in Blue Bell.  Heather said that one of her favorite moments was jumping on the bed.  It’s pretty obvious in the photo that she’s having a very good time of it.  I’m glad that I asked her.  They were married outside at Normandy which turned out to be a gorgeous day.  They had a good time, we had a great time and their friends were awesome.  So much fun on the dance floor.  Heather even had a bunch of friends from “The Knot” come visit.  I gave them all a hard time because I didn’t work any of their weddings.  Lucky for them they all hired photogs before hearing about me.

Melissa and Andrew’s Wedding

Melissa and Andrew were married at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Lancaster and then partied the night away at Lime Spring Farm in Lancaster.  I was photographing another wedding that day so I was unable to be a part of their big day.  Adam did a great job at capturing the day and the location.

Stephanie and John’s Wedding Photos

Stephanie and John were married at St Ann Church in Bristol.  It’s a very pretty church.  I love the way that the mural at the front of the church looks in photos.  It’s really gorgeous.  After that we went to the waterfront in Bristol.  They wanted to go to a Library which has nice architecture but when we arrived another bridal party was there with a permit.  Sadly, we didn’t have a permit so we had to leave.  But, then we found another place that I think ended up much better.  We found a snow cone vendor and cool rocks and sailboats and all sorts of interesting things.  After that we went to the Buck Hotel which is very nice inside.  It has a huge ballroom and nice rooms.  We had a great time and I think we really got some creative shots that day.

Emily and David’s Wedding

Emily and David were married at Saint Katherine of Siena in Media and their reception was at the Radnor Hotel.  The Radnor hotel has a wonderful surprise in the back.  There’s a beautiful flower garden with paths and benches and arbors.  It’s really nice and totally unexpected.  I had been here about the same time last year so I remembered it.  Emily and David gave us a good amount of time for photos and it really allowed us to create so great shots.  Emily was one of the more memorable brides that I’ve had.  During photos, she was quiet and reserved.  Never very expressive or overly energetic.  But then, after a few drinks, she becomes the life of the party.  She’s dancing and singing and jumping and tossing her hair around to the music.  I asked one of her friends about this and they said, That’s Emily!  We had a great time.  Here are some great photos!

Sarah and Jeff’s Wedding

It’s been years since I’ve been to Mendenhall Inn.  So, I was very excited when Sarah and Jeff asked me to be a part of their wedding and the reception would be held there.  It’s a beautiful place with a 2nd level and grand staircase.  It has a huge dance floor right down the center which is great because everyone has a great view of the dancers.  Sarah and Jeff, were so easy to work with and even though it poured so hard I thought about building an ark, they still just kept smiling and enjoying each other.  Thankfully, we talked Longwood Gardens into letting us use the indoor areas for photos.  They never allow this but it was a beautiful bride ready for her photos and it was pouring.  They gave in and we are all so glad they did.  The photos in the greenhouses turned out amazing.  It was a great day.

Tracy and Bob’s Wedding

I had an amazing time with Tracy and Bob on their wedding day.  Tracy got ready in a huge room at the Hyatt on Penn’s Landing.  The girls were a lot of fun and the room had sweet views of the waterfront.  The ceremony was at Old Saint Joseph’s which is a favorite of mine.  I have been there a handful of times and really like the look of it.  At one point the little ringbearer yelled out “Mom, I have to go to the bathroom” which made everyone laugh.  There’s a photo of it in the blog post.  After the ceremony we all went out to the nearby parks and shot on the steps of the 2nd oldest bank in the USA.  It looks like it belongs next to the pantheon.

After that, we went to the reception site which is one of the coolest places I have been in a long time.  It’s called the Curtis Center and it is amazing.  There’s a glass ceiling about 11 stories above the reception floor.  There’s a waterfall on one end and marble floors.  I can’t wait to go back someday.

Julie and Matt’s Engagement Photos

Julie and Matt were such a cute couple.  They were really happy the whole time and just looked goo together.  I’m 6-4 and I really have to look up to Matt.  He’s got to be 6-7 or something.  We had a great time walking around New Hope together and I really enjoyed hanging out with them.

My Family Vacation

I know, it’s been a while.  I know, that I promised that if 7 days passed without a blog post that I would give away a free session.  There’s a little loophole in this game and that is that I’m allowed to take a vacation without working on the blog.  I hope you can all understand that my wife won’t allow me to do any work on a vacation.  So, I’m very sorry for all 8 of you who contacted me and thought that you had won the session.  I’m taking advantage of my vacation rule.

So, let me tell you a little about my vacation to Myrtle Beach.  I photographed a wedding on September 12th and arrived home at about midnight.  We planned on getting up at 4 in the morning and leaving by 5.  Obviously not much sleep.  And, since I go all out at every wedding I’m pretty tired for the next 24 hour period.  Things were pretty good on the way down but there’s diaper changes, breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, and breaks.  The 10 hour trip took about 13 hours.  But we made it.  We were absolutely exhausted and after going to bed at 11 that night we were woken up at 4 in the morning with a crying baby.  Kinsey wouldn’t go back to sleep so at 5am we just got up and went on with the morning.

The beach was a lot of crying during sunscreen applications, taking sand out of Kinsey’s mouth, making sure Reegan didn’t fall in the surf, hauling things out to the beach and back and showering to wash off sand that is everywhere.  Oh, and the showers also caused lots of crying.

Kinsey, slept pretty well the next night, woke up at 4:30 but went to sleep by 5:30am.  Thank goodness.  We went mini golfing and Reegan was scared of the fake pirates so she cried the whole time.  By the end of the game she had calmed down.  Then we told her to put her pink ball in the 18th hole and when it went down the pipe she cried again.

The next night Kinsey was up again early and we were ready to head off to the Outer Banks.  It took us a long time to get there.  We arrived in Nags Head and found a quaint restaurant.  It was much nicer inside and we were definitely not dressed properly.  Our kids were cranky.  Kinsey started crying and I bounced her in the lobby.  The dinner for my wife and I was $70 and we took it to go because Kinsey wouldn’t stop crying and everyone was looking at us.  The hotel was nice but at 2 in the morning Kinsey woke up and wouldn’t go back to sleep.  So, at 3 in the morning we left and drove home.

In the end we decided to never do anything like that again.  I’m ready for a vacation from my vacation.  I hope you can forgive me for not blogging on my vacation!

Michele and Steve’s Wedding

Michele and Steve had one of my more memorable engagement photo sessions.  There were many laughs, running towards each other with open arms in slow motion and even Michelle riding on Steve’s back like a cowboy.  The wedding reception was at Normandy Farms and we had a great time with the two of them.  Lot’s of smiles and laughter and fun.
