Maria and Joseph’s Engagement Photos

Maria and Joseph decided to have their engagement photos taken in Manayunk at the same place and on the same day as Chrisin and Mike (see last post)  I took this session just after the other one.  I knew that I had to blog both of these and I didn’t want them too look the same so we did completely differnt things.  I was joking with each of them that it would be a competition on whose photos were better but I have to say they both turned out very unique and very very cool.  I love each of them.
On a side note, I saw Maria and Joseph at a wedding last night.  Maria was a bridesmaid.  I also saw about 5 people in total from past weddings.  It’s so cool to see past clients again and weddings that they helped me book.

Christin and Mike’s Engagement Photos

Sometimes clients aren’t too excited about having their photos taken.  Well, many times guys aren’t that excited.  Mike was not very excited about this photo session and even though Chrstin and I had to just about drag him around town to get these photos I think secretly he had a good time. :)  While male modeling is far from his dream job I think the two of them look great together and made it all look effortless.  Mike, you did great and now the wedding will be that much easier!  Maybe take a few drinks before the wedding.  That helps just about everyone.  Either way, Christin’s smile and laugh will take the spotlight off you altogether.  You guys did great and look great!

Demetria and Larry’s Wedding

Demetria has been a great bride through the entire process.  She is a client that any photographer would love to have any time.  She LOVES photography, loves our photography and loves to be in front of the camera.  She and Larry are so easy to work with that it didn’t even feel like work when we were taking the photos.

On a side note, the blog has gone 7 days without an update and I was caught again! As I promised, I am awarding Heather (one of my recent brides) a free portrait session.  Heather has a little boy so I’m sure that she will have no problem using that free session.  If you are new to this blog, I have a little game I play with all my clients, and non clients.  If you e-mail me when the blog has not been updated after 7 days I will give you a free portrait session.  That’s $200 in your pocket!  All for just checking out the blog.  That’s a pretty darn good deal I’d say.

Well, I’m so busy (actually off to a wedding right now) that I can’t write much.  I’ll just let the photos tell the story.  Enjoy!

Jacquelynne and Doug’s Wedding

Jacquelynne and Doug were married at the Hershy Hotel which is a gorgeous and old hotel right next to Hershey Park and Hershey’s Chocolate Factory.  Sadly, because this summer has been about 80% rain so far, they had to get married inside rather than out in the Hershey Gardens.  How many times can I say Hershey in one post?  But, like I tell all my clients, when you lose one cool location you will always gain another cool one and it was the same in this situation.  The inside of the Hershey Hotel is gorgeous.  Beautiful tiles, a fountain, great architecture etc…  It was just really nice.  Then at the end of the day, another storm moved in and we were able to get some really cool clouds.  Oh, and we were able to go outside for some after the ceremony which was great because the Hershey Gardens are amazing.

Jacquelynne never stopped smiling and laughing and having a great time, her sister was nice enough to share her birthday with her sister, we sang happy birthday, everyone had a great time dancing the night away and the photos show that the wedding was perfect even though the weather was not.

Bridget and Jimmy’s Wedding Photos

Bridget and Jimmy were married on May 9th and were photographed by Candid Moments Photography’s Associate Team: Adam and Georgi.  They were married in St Albert the  Great Church in Huntingdon Valley.  The Reception was at the Huntingdon Valley Country Club.  Bridget sent me an E-mail telling me that the guys did a great job and how much of a great time they had on their wedding day. Bridget also told me that she is very excited to get on the blog!  Well, here you are!

Melanie and Sean’s Engagement Photos

Melanie and Sean decided to join me at Tyler State Park in Bucks County for some engagement photos.  Now, I have been here a few times and I know of a few really fun places.  But, because I know every session goes on the blog I couldn’t just do the same thing.  So, right of the bat we searched for something new and I found a great bridge and stream.  Melanie and Sean were great sports and stepped in to the frigid stream barefoot.  Melanie is great in front of the camera.  She just can’t help but smile and laugh about everything.  And the two of them are really relaxed and easy going.  They looked great together and you could feel the love.

One particularly memorable moment was when I was about to photograph them and I realized that there was a little boy, about 4 years old, who decided that he was going to just drop his pants and pee.  I normally would love to photograph a shot like this.  But, since his family was there I didn’t think they would be so fond of a stranger taking this shot of their son.  But we had a good laugh about it

Stacy and Marco’s Engagement Photos

Stacy and Marco decided to have their photos taken down at the art museum.  It was a hot hot hot one but the sky was blue and the clouds were white and that is all I want.  The view from the top of the steps is always stunning.  We didn’t imitate Rocky, nor did we pose in front of the statue but Stacy was definately a fighter.  Her heels were killing her feet but she pushed through the pain and give me some great expressions.  It was a great session.

Meredith and Mike’s Wedding

I had the pleasure of bringing along a friend of mine on this wedding.  Mike Landis is a fellow photographer who lives nearby and was willing to help me out.  We had a great time and a few fun stories to tell along the way.  Meredith decided that while we were taking pictures around Princeton University that she and Mike would wade out into the middle of the fountain.  Of course with the giddiness of a little boy on Christmas morning I said “that would be AWESOME!”  I then suggested that the bridal party join in and we had the making of a wonderful photo shoot.  I do have to say that I was extremely nervous that Meredith was going to slip and go under.  I don’t think any of the brides friends or family would have thought it was such a great idea then.

Before that great moment I had a moment that was on the other side of the spectrum.  One of my most embarrassing moments.  Now, I don’t embarrass too easily but I felt like a big idiot at the church.  The church was very dark and in order to get a sharp photo I leaned against the side wall to steady the camera.  I was in a small niche so I wouldn’t attract attention.  Unfortunately, that’s where the lightswitches were.  Instead of switches, they were buttons.  A whole line of them.  I leaned on them while steadying my shot and turned the lights off in the whole church.  Because there were so many buttons I had no idea which ones to hit.  The priest had to walk back and turn them on.  Of course everyone followed him to me and watched him scold me.  Not a good moment in my career as a professional photographer.  But like I said.  I don’t embarrass too easily.

Enjoy the photos and feel free to laugh at my expense!

April and Carlos’s Engagement Photos

April and Carlos love their dog.  Really love their dog.  Carlos was a proud papa, telling me all about Lola.  Lola just had to be in the photos and I’m so glad she was because I really like how they turned out.  After playing ball and wrestling in the grass, Lola was done and we went on to do some non dog photography.  These two crack me up.  Carlos is a complete ham and April loves to laugh at him.  They have a great time together and even though they were admittedly shy of the camera, they did a great job and came away with some sweet stuff.  At the end a storm started rolling in and we had to run for it.  On my way home I had to try and grab a shot of the lighting.  After about 10 tries I finally nabbed it.

Mia and Phil’s Wedding

I rarely work alone at a wedding however, this was one of those times.  It is during my solo weddings that I realize how much I miss a 2nd photographer.  I was working on overdriive during Mia and Phil’s wedding.  The Indian ceremony was all in another language and was filled with many traditional elements.  Since I was unsure what was the most important parts to this ceremony I worked both sides of the room as well as the center aisle, back of the room and front.  It was very beautiful.  There was even FIRE!  Cool.  After the Indian ceremony Mia decided to do the white dress, Americanized version.  It was much much quicker.  :)

It rained most of the day but as soon as we were ready to go outside it cleared up and provided us with wonderful outdoor shots.

I was so glad to be hired to do another Indian wedding.  I love the traditional dress.  It’s so beautiful.  In the end I was exhausted but excited.
