Linsey and Brent’s Engagement Photos

I asked Linsey and Brent if they wanted to have their photos done in New Hope which is on the Deleware River just east of Doylestown. I had never been there but had always heard great things about the place. For the most part if the location is even remotely nice and I have nice light and a good looking couple ready to do anything for cool photos I can create something awesome. So, we stopped traffic and made heads turn and had a photo shoot in busy New Hope. Here are some of my favorites!

This is a painted fence that surrounds a dumpster. I am pressing my body against a nasty dumpster to get this and it was well worth it. I did a shot like this when I first started shooting photography 6 years ago and when I saw this fence I had to give it another try.

What a wall!

It was all about color on this shoot. I realized it early on and just kept searching for colors.

Both of these are sweet and I’m very proud to have taken them. The one on the right was a last minute idea. The light was gone and we almost packed up. I’m so glad that I didn’t. Love the purple sky.

Sarah and Evan’s Engagement Photos

Here’s some more tasty engagement photos for you all.  Hope you love them like I do!

As I was driving to Sarah’s house I noticed this field full of giant hay bails.   I just knew that we would have to come back here at the end of the session.

This shot is just really calming and romantic.  It doesn’t look forced and that’s what I love about it.

Don’t smile…hold it… oh forget it.

This is the shot that I had in my head from the time I drove past this field.  Love that Sarah is in a dress because the silhouette looks like like an old western or something.  Maybe I should put a horse in the picture.  hmm…..

Terri and Scott’s Wedding

I had a blast at this wedding.  Terri is so much fun to hang out with and just makes my day so easy.  She had a great time at her wedding and you can tell she just loves life.  She’s an elementary school teacher so I guess shes a little bit crazy too.

I thought her bouquet was beautiful.  The berries were a very nice touch.

I love having great 2nd shooters that work so hard for me.  While I was shooting a gorgeous window light photo Adam grabbed something completely different with this silhouette shot that I ended up liking better.  I don’t think I will ever shoot a wedding alone if I can help it.  I just can’t do it all.

Okay, there’s a story to the shot below.  Most churches have become very strict when it comes to where photographers are allowed and what we are allowed to do.  When I walk into a church I am usually greeted quickly by a very serious priest or pastor who means business.  I get lectured about the rules and usually treated as if I am planning on jumping around on the alter and standing in front of the parents.  I take my job serious so while I will try my best not to be a distraction my goal is to get nice shots of the ceremony.   The only thing I want is to be able to move around quietly and discreetly.  Well, this church would not allow us to move at all.  So, Adam stayed in the back and I became a guest.  I was cousin Doug for 30 minutes.  I decided to grab a shot quickly and Adam caught me.

Here’s the shot that I grabbed.

This kissing shot was also possible because I was able to sit in the pews.

Terri’s a school teacher and these are their normal faces.  Tell me she’s not a super cool teacher!

Because of this blog I have many of my brides asking if they will have a tall grass shot.  The tall grass shot is my signature photo.  So, for all you fans, here is another.

This shot is so stinkin cute.  I love little kids so much especially when they don’t know that they are being photographed.

Some people can dance and some…

I love being on the dance floor once things really get going.  I crack up looking at some peoples expressions when they are really rocking out.

Stephanie and John’s Engagement Photos

Lately, I have been asking couples to choose locations that are personal to them and it has been so much fun because I am always going to new places and creating some really fun photography. Stephanie and John were staying in OC for the week and both love the beach. Well I’ve never done engagement photos at the shore before so I was definitely up for it. I loaded the family in the car and headed east. My wife Michelle, my daughter Reegan, my mom and my nephew who is 1. Since I was the only grown man it was my job to haul three loads of or stuff across the sand like a pack mule. We set up camp as if we were staying on the beach for a weekend. It was hot, sandy, sweaty and sticky. But everyone had a great time in the water. After all that I still had to work but as you can see the end results were awesome. We all had a blast.

You can’t go to the beach without a shot of a seagull right?
