Danielle and Rob’s Wedding

Danielle is Jeanine’s sister. We photographed Jeanine and Lou last winter. We love happy brides who tell others about us. Danielle and Rob were married at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Wilmington and then had their reception at the Goodstay Center on the campus of University of Delaware. It was another steamy day where you sweat in seconds after walking outside. Adam was my partner today and took this gorgeous shot of the dress. I am very jealous because it’s awesome.

It was so hot and humid that after being outside for ten minutes we took a few minutes inside.

An intimate gathering with family and friends.

The ceremony got started late which made us late for the reception. We had about five minutes outside before the lady in charge cornered us and made us come in for dinner. I hate that. We had an amazing place and no time. We worked really fast and came out with some beautiful shots.

I tried to take the entire bridal party back outside again after dinner but literally within a minute of setting everyone up a huge thunderclap boomed overhead and we all went running and screaming back inside. I found this cool red room and grabbed the guys for a few shots.

The photo to the left is Adam’s and the one on the right is mine. I know Adam loves the close-up and Adam knows that I love the wide shot. We don’t even need to discuss it. I love both of these but I’ll concede that Adam has the better one this time. That shot’s pretty darn cool.

Rob can can correct me if I’m wrong but I believe that the song was ACDC’s “You shook me all night long”. And these guys rocked the air guitar, bass and drums like no other. Rock on boys.

Beth and Terrance’s Wedding

I don’t know if anyone remembers the weekend of June 7th but it was about 95 with 95% humidity. It felt like walking through a sauna all day. Beth gave me a check for the final payment and I stuck it in my pocket. I was so drenched with sweat by the reception that I could barely read the smeared ink on the check. Everyone in the bridal party was so patient. Thank you all for working through such a hot hot hot day. It’s funny that when you look at the pictures it looks like a nice day.

Adam took both of these and as you can see they are both awesome.

The two of these are so cool in black and white.

Here’s a nice shot by Adam. I love the dark background and light grass. Nice contrast.

I have a few types of photos that I love to take. Adam calls them “Doug Photos”. One of them is the couple in tall grass. There’s something fun about it and I like to take advantage of it when I can. I guess there’s something romantic about it.

There was a driving range on the other side of this tree. We were about 20 yards down range. I was a little nervous. Here’s the headline “Bride Killed by Golf Ball, Photographer to Blame”

There’s nothing better than a crowded dance floor. And lots of smiles!

Kelly and Joe’s Engagement Session

I photographed Kelly and Joe a little while ago but forgot to add the photos to the blog. Kelly is a big fan and I love that! There’s nothing better than working for a bride who is totally excited to have cool photos taken and tell all her friends about them. It makes me a better photographer. I love this first one by the wall. Cute.

These iris’s were pretty cool. It almost looks like Kelly choose her dress because of this photo. If the gardener is looking at this, “We didn’t crush any of them.”

The heavens are singing.
